The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) in Mpumalanga is currently visiting the Fernie 2 Neighborhood Hall in Mpuluzi to render providers for the community.
SASSA might be rendering providers such as new social grant applications, change of payment method, client care enquiries, in addition to the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.
In a statement, the agency explained it's alarmed about the significant quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim with the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to some significant quantity of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.
“This is often a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office committed to service the area on a daily basis. The provider issue developed for intervention activities a superior influx of likely beneficiaries, that makes it complicated for your office to attend to all people who take a look at a service point.
“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise more sources to permit the servicing of all prospects and increase sassa status entry to Social Assistance companies,” the agency said.
